Titan FC 28 Main Card Preview

titan-fc-28-mma-ufc-dateTitan FC 28: Brillz vs Davis takes place tomorrow night May 16th, 2014! The event was originally scheduled for April, but a series of injuries to signed fighters forced it to be pushed back to this week. The date change also moved the card from Kansas City to Oklahoma and the First Council Casino Hotel in Newkirk. The event will be headlined by a light heavyweight attraction as Jason Brilz seeks a win against Raphael Davis. Also, Dave Herman battles Kalib Starnes and five other UFC veterans are also competing on the six fight main card. The main card airs on CBS Sports Network beginning at 10 p.m. ET with the preliminary card beginning at 8pm ET and streaming live at CBSSports.com.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division affair as Alvin “Kid” Robinson (13-7-0) competes against Gleristone “Toninho Furia” Santos (25-4-0). Robinson is a UFC veteran who has won four of seven since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Mark Bocek at UFC 91. Santos will enter the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, but he has not competed in almost a year.

The featherweight division will be featured as William Joplin (9-8-0) is in action against Walel “The Gazelle” Watson (11-7-0). Joplin will enter the fight riding a seven fight winning streak and he is a veteran of the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. Watson is a UFC veteran who enters the fight on a two fight losing streak, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Tom Niinimaki. Joplin has made an incredible career resurgence in the last few years and he will get the biggest win of his career if he defeats the UFC veteran.

A pair of welterweights will collide as Brock “The Machine” Jardine (9-3-0) does battle against Daniel “Ninja” Roberts (14-5-0). Jardine will be competing for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Kenny Robertson at UFC 157. Roberts has won two of three since his UFC release, which includes a win over UFC veteran Brian Foster.

Heavyweight division action will be happening as Walt “The Big Ticket” Harris (5-3-0) battles DJ “The Protege” Linderman (15-7-0). Harris will be competing for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Nikita Krylov at UFC On Fox X. Linderman has only won two of his last six bouts, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Anthony Johnson.

Another heavyweight division bout as Dave Herman (21-6-0) takes on Kalib Starnes (16-8-1). Herman will be fighting for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 162. Starnes is also a veteran of UFC action and he will be entering the fight on a four fight winning streak, which includes a win over UFC veteran Tim Hague. Starnes has been looking far better than his poor UFC run would let on and he will be looking to continue Herman’s woes as he looks for a victory in this one.

Headlining this card is a light heavyweight division battle as Jason “The Hitman” Brilz (21-5-1) faces Raphael “Noodle” Davis (13-2-0). Brilz has been undefeated since his UFC release and he has primarily been competing in the Victory Fighting Championships promotion. Davis will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak and he has not lost a bout in three full years. Brilz has looked outstanding since his UFC release but both men will be looking to keep their winning streaks alive.
