Devon Dixon is Prepared for War at Titan FC 73

Devon Dixon (4-0) is set to make his fifth walk to the Titan FC cage on December 17th as he takes on Charlie Decca at Titan FC 73.

Dixon has become a household name and a fan favorite in his four pro bouts with the promotion. His style is one with very little, if any, holes; his striking is crisp and his grappling is considerably underrated. Not to mention, Dixon always seems to put on a show and bring the crowd to their feet. His mindset and motivation come from his diligent work ethic and knowledge of the sport. One thing that’s admirable about Dixon is his ability to thrive under pressure.

“I fight for a lot of reasons,” he explained. “There’s a lot on the line and there’s nothing like putting your all into something and performing.”

The 24-year-old was introduced to the sport at a young age as he was always a fan of watching MMA. As time went on, he started doing Jiu-Jitsu and progressed enough to begin competing at a relatively early stage. When the time came to start high school, Dixon joined the wrestling team his freshman year. Following the year of wrestling, he decided to pursue MMA and eventually began to believe he could do it professionally.

Fast-Forward to 2017 and Dixon turned his passion into a career as he made his amateur debut. In a year-long span, he took five amateur bouts and made a name for himself on the South Florida scene. After kicking off 2019 with a bang, earning a first-round submission win, he decided it was time to change gyms and made his way to, the world renowned, Sanford MMA. It had been nothing short of a successful move for Dixon as he’s was dominant securing a victory at IMMAF worlds in 2019 and the XFN amateur lightweight title. As time goes on, Dixon appreciates the work and the people at Sanford MMA greatly. He credits them for taking his game to the next level not only as an amateur, but also as an undefeated pro.

“The best part about training at Sanford are the coaches and teammates,” he said. “The culture is great, everyone helps each other out and we all have champ aspirations.”

Although he spends most of his time at Sanford MMA, he had the opportunity to travel to Texas and train with some of the world’s best Jiu-Jitsu specialists, in Nick Rodriguez, Nicky Ryan and Craig Jones, at B Team Jiu-Jitsu.

After a huge victory in the fight-of-the-night at Titan FC 71, Dixon looks to keep the ball rolling on December 17th. After a two-fight stint at welterweight, the South Floridian, will square off with Charlie Decca in a 160lb catchweight bout. Dixon envisions this to be an entertaining scrap yet, one that will end with his hand getting raised. He spoke highly and respectfully of Decca and his skillset however, he believes he has the upper hand in this one.

“This is probably my toughest fight yet, we have similar styles,” Dixon said. “I believe I have better striking, wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu.”

When Devon Dixon’s name is on a bout card, it’s an obvious sign to tune in. He’s a finishing machine that has been to a singular decision in his entire pro and amateur MMA career. At 24-years-old, it’s inevitable that Dixon will be a known name in MMA for a long time. He has all the skills to make it and have continued success in a major organization, it’s just a matter of time. On December 17th, Dixon looks to give himself to ultimate birthday gift, another victory in stellar fashion in the Titan FC cage.
